Slight delay in posting, but NYE was really fun this year. The past few years I have spent it in San Diego, but this year I spent it with friends from back home. Chanelle took me to The Standard and afterwards we went to Cafe101, got the best veggie soup and saw Ryan Gosling. We died. For Ryan Gosling, not the soup. Actually, for the soup too. I decided that from past experience, The Standard’s pour sucks. In a vodka soda, it’s 90% soda water and 10% vodka. So what do I do? I order vodka on the rocks. The first few sips made me feel like I was breathing fire, but then I got used to it. I’d actually order it more often if it didn’t make me look like such an alcoholic. There’s some pics below. I’ll have more once Chanelle sells me her dvd full of pictures.
Work’s been super demanding and busy, but after this week I think it should mellow out. Saturday we are having our grand opening party of The Martin Bldg. + Flats (my apartment complex). Sanctuary 143 is throwing the party with/for us. We’ll have The Linkery and The Pearl Hotel catering, beer from Stone Brewery, wine, artists and a DJ from groove247.com. It should be fun and I want the party to continue at Nunu’s after 
Oh, and! I’m going to Portland and Seattle in less than two weeks! We got a hotel room at The Jupiter Hotel, which I am so excited about. I have a tour at Portland State University since I am looking into their MBA + program. Then off to Seattle! Even though I just got back from vacation, it’ll be nice to have another mini one.
Now, off to Lani’s birthday dinner at Apertivo. Can’t wait for their grilled veggies and fetuccine alfredo. My two favorites. Oh, and maybe the caprese salad too. Oh, and maybe a meat ball. God I love you Apertivo.

I’ve been keeping extremely busy with my new job and just hanging out with friends. Enjoying the benefits of working M-F with the LWP Group. Last weekend I went home for my godmother and brother’s birthday party and on the way up I stopped off in Redondo Beach to see Casey Lamm. I wasn’t going to because I had my dog and Erin with me, but i am really glad I did. I hadn’t seen him in over a year.
I’m excited for the next couple of weeks here. My brother John flies in tonight and we’ll head to my favorite beer spot..Hamilton’s. Then my brother Tim comes home from Iraq tomorrow! I cannot wait. I get so happy thinking about it. We’re all going to meet him at Camp Pendleton, then we’ll go out to dinner and head back to the hotels in Carlsbad. Then Sunday we will surprise Tim and show him his house that we’ve all been working on for the past seven months while he was deployed.
Then next weekend we are having a huge party at our other brother’s house in Simi Valley. And also, I forget when..but I am seeing The Black Kids at The Belly Up. Yay. Here’s some pics from Street Scene and a video from The Black Kids. Enjoy. Until next time..

Yesterday I found out that I got promoted to a new position within the company that I work for. I will no longer be working at The Pearl Hotel, but will be working at the corporate office on Fifth Ave. I am pretty excited–I will have a normal 8-5 job, never have to work on weekends again, and there’s some cool little perks that go along with the job as well. I am thinking about getting a bike from Electra since the office is just a straight shot down Fifth Avenue and wouldn’t take me more than fifteen minutes to bike to and from work.
So, I’m back from Atascadero / San Luis Obispo. So much fun. I went wine tasting for the first time, went out on Lake San Antonio, and went to Montana de Oro (a beautiful state park, which I heard they are going to shut down due to budget cuts! Lame Mr. Governor). It was a nice little getaway. Now, back to the daily grind. I work everyday this week and three of those days I will be working 13 hour days. Busy, busy, busy.
I feel like I already need another vacation. Maybe San Fran to visit my brother? Maybe another trip up to SLO or Santa Barbara. I like mini road trips, although I must admit I am a crappy road trip partner. Apparently all I like to do in cars is sleep.

Quick announcement too: We have Taco Tuesday now at The Pearl. $3 beef, fish or veggie tacos and $3 Mexican beers. Mmmm. Too bad I work every Tuesday night.
