..since I’ve posted here.  (as I was typing that, I realized that since my internship ended at digital-telepathy, hardly any of my posts are about social media..man I miss you dt..)

I’ve been keeping extremely busy with my new job and just hanging out with friends.  Enjoying the benefits of working M-F with the LWP Group.  Last weekend I went home for my godmother and brother’s birthday party and on the way up I stopped off in Redondo Beach to see Casey Lamm.  I wasn’t going to because I had my dog and Erin with me, but i am really glad I did.  I hadn’t seen him in over a year.

I’m excited for the next couple of weeks here.  My brother John flies in tonight and we’ll head to my favorite beer spot..Hamilton’s.  Then my brother Tim comes home from Iraq tomorrow!  I cannot wait.  I get so happy thinking about it.  We’re all going to meet him at Camp Pendleton, then we’ll go out to dinner and head back to the hotels in Carlsbad.  Then Sunday we will surprise Tim and show him his house that we’ve all been working on for the past seven months while he was deployed.

Then next weekend we are having a huge party at our other brother’s house in Simi Valley.  And also, I forget when..but I am seeing The Black Kids at The Belly Up.  Yay.  Here’s some pics from Street Scene and a video from The Black Kids.  Enjoy.  Until next time..

Some Excitement

So, there’s lots going on right now that I’m pretty excited about.  First, I just moved into my very own place.  It’s a studio in Banker’s Hill and I absolutely love it.  I thought I might hate living alone, but I enjoy it.  I can come home whenever and not worry about waking someone up, I can wake up in the middle of the night and walk to the fridge in my undies, I can have friends over until the early hours in the morning and no one cares.  Living alone is a wonderful thing.  And I’m obsessed with the area I live in.  The other night I walked to Balboa Park for happy hour at The Prado, which I hope I can do once a week.  I can walk to my internship and I don’t even have to get on the freeway to get to my job.  Bassam’s is just a few blocks away also, along with Extraordinary Desserts.

More excitement?  Tuesday I am going to Disneyland with my whole family.  Brothers, sister in laws, nephews, and of course mom and dad.  On July 31st you’ll find me at The Pearl for the California Growers event.  It’s a night of California produce and proteins paired with California wines and cocktails.  Pretty stoked about that.  Then, the first weekend in August I am going up to Atascadero for a mini family reunion.  Lots of wine and good company.

Lastly, I cannot wait for Street Scene.  I went my first year living in San Diego (also the last year they had it downtown).  I hadn’t been interested in going until this year.  The lineup is so good (for the most part–Justice, Does it Offend You, Yeah?, Cat Power, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, Cold War Kids, TV On The Radio) and it’s in East Village.  Finally back where it belongs.  What a good way to end the summer.
